Introducing Samantha!!!!

Samantha Laney Stafford joined our family at 10:04 p.m. on March 16, 2008. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 inches long. My water broke at 10:45 that morning as we were about to leave for church (at least we hadn't left yet!) so we sent the other 4 kids with my sister Kimberly and her 2 kids to church and headed for the hospital. My sister had just arrived the night before from Colorado--great timing!!! We spent the day in the hospital with a few contractions sporadically through the day but no active labor. Just before 9 that night, we decided we needed to get things going so I was given pitocin. She arrived about an hour later after needing a little encouragement. The cord was in front of her and over her shoulder and she had her head turned so delivery was a little more eventful than we anticipated.

We made it through the first week. She came home from the hospital to be put in a bellibed that we were finally able to get rid of on Saturday. It was nice to sleep in my own bed after almost a week. We're getting over thrush now so hopefully some of this excitement will slow down.

Christina and Daniel are on their little spring break. They had a half a day last Wednesday and have been off since. They go back tomorrow.

The kids are doing really well with their new sister. Amanda will only call her baby sister or baby girl. Jonathan loves saying her name and pointing out all of her body parts. Christina loves to hold her new sister and has been a big help. Daniel has been excited to tell everyone about their new sister.
