Our ward in Texas left for Girl's camp the week we left Texas. Our new ward in Tennessee was having girl's camp later so we figured Christina could go with them. As that date approached and things were still lagging with buying the house, we were grateful that Christina was given the opportunity to go to girl's camp with her cousin in their ward. On July 3rd Christina left for girl's camp with her cousin Audree--
July 4th, we took the rest of the kids and Grandma Jackson up to Look Out Mountain in Georgia.
We also went to the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee and had an interesting time walking through the headstones and learning more about those who died in the Civil War.
Ever since Clay joined the army, these visits have a much different meaning to me. I get a little better glimpse at what life was like for these soldiers and those they left behind. I understand the ranking systems and acronyms on the headstones and it leaves me feeling very grateful for those who were willing to stand up for what they believed in, regardless the cost.
