Texas is a HUGE state with some very little towns (and not as pretty as New Mexico, in my opinion). Did I mention how big it was? The second largest state in fact. Our first stop was in Lubbock, Texas where we spent Wednesday night at a Residence Inn again. We also went through the time zone that day so it made for a longer day when you lose an hour.
Here's Samantha at the hotel. She's been a great trooper on this trip and done VERY well in the car. I think Jonathan's had the hardest time in the car. He's ready to run whenever we stop.
And of course we had to stop by the Lubbock Temple while we were there. It's a very small temple but very beautiful. 
Our last sights of a temple for a while. :( The closest temple is 2 1/2- 3 hours away. We did this in Iowa but it will probably be a bit until we get down to the temple in San Antonio as we need to get things situated here (like getting a house).
We're so glad we're almost done with the trip!!! Here we go to find our new town!
We finally arrived at Fort Hood on Thursday, October 15th. We actually arrived before it was dark this night! Fort Hood is pretty much right in the center of Texas. It's about 30 minutes to a larger city, 1 hour to Austin from what we've been told. Luckily, this part of Texas is much prettier than other parts of Texas we drove through. It's got some rolling hills and pretty green.
