A new month

It's February already. I feel like my life is a fuzzy blur lately.

Ethan and Samantha got a touch of the flu or something end of last week which didn't help my inability to sleep. Guess it's a good thing when I can't sleep to have something to do anyway, right?

I ended up taking Ethan to the ER on Saturday because he kept throwing up. Did you know they have this little pill now to stop kids from throwing up? You just put it in their mouth and it dissolves. With no side effects. Thanks to the Dr. I now have a supply of these little pills. I guess they were created for kids going through chemo. Pretty cool. These are a life saver for a single mom. Especially with more than a few kids. Hopefully we won't be using them much but nice to have a back up while dad isn't here.

Clay's unit isn't telling him whether or not they will sign the conditional release he needs to move forward with school. He also told me Saturday that if they sign it, they may not let him come back until June. Nothing like having a ton of bricks added to my load. That means me finding housing, packing, etc. without him again. Nothing like bringing back memories from 2 years ago. I really don't think men even think about all the little details associated with moving sometimes but I know he won't really get a say in when he comes back either. We're praying we just know something soon.

And I don't like being a landlord. I wish we could sell our home in Utah so I wouldn't have that to deal with too.

I started a reward system for the kids if they get up and ready for school in time. With the two days of school so far, it's worked for 1 of the 4 each day. Hopefully when they start seeing siblings get rewards, they'll be a little more motivated.

For Family Home Evening last night we went over the 13th Article of Faith again. Sunday night I also sat down and worked on some goals for the week with the kids. I think we're making progress with them. I know I'm really trying to change the way I act with these situations. Hopefully my kids will forgive me someday for my mistakes. I know they don't understand why things are different when I'm alone. In some ways I feel like a better mother because I can devote all my attention to them. Adjusting to a new life is hard for all of us and will take some time.

I decided to make a change last night and got frosties for the kids for dinner. Just because. We don't go out to eat very often so they were thrilled with their nuggets and treat. I figure I don't really want to venture to eat out so we got them and went home to eat. It was easier to get salad and other stuff on their plates then too. Baby steps.
