Wyoming/Utah

Thursday, June 30th, we drove to Montpelier, ID to go to Artic Circle.  Yep, that was one of the top priorities on my kid's lists of things they wanted to do while we were out west.  The kids had a great time.  My dad helped me shuttle Tank to a car dealership there to get an oil change done.  While we were waiting for it to get done, my mom, the kids and I checked out the Oregon Trail Museum there.  If you ever go, the bottom floor was wonderful.  The tour guide there made it come alive for my kids and allowed them to use some of the old relics. It was a lot of fun.

From there, we drove up a canyon a little bit and my dad took Daniel and Jonathan fishing.  They had a lot of fun.  Caught one but grandpa threw it back before I could take a picture.

That night we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows (and had smores too) over a fire at my parent's house for dinner.  The kids had a lot of fun.

The next morning, we got up, did laundry (why doesn't that ever stop on a vacation????), loaded the car and headed to Utah!!!!  Christina and Daniel were pointing out a lot of what they remembered and things they remembered us doing at different parts.  They started to cry when we entered West Valley.  Funny out of all the places we lived, that still feels a lot like home.  I'm sure it's because we thought we would be there longer and still have a house there.

That night we went to my grandma's house in Magna and had my dad's brothers and their families come over for a BBQ/potluck dinner.  My oldest brother Deron and my brother Jake and their families joined us too.  It was so good to see everyone again.  Out of the 6 boys my grandma had, we had 5 of them there.  The only one missing was Tom who is in Washington.  It sounds like it's been a while since that family got together.  We had a lot of fun.  Thanks everyone who came!

Saturday, July 2, we went swimming at the Magna pool with Deron, Virginia, McKenZ, and Jaxon.  I put sunscreen on us, but forgot to reapply.  And we all fried.  Bad.  I felt like the worst Mom that day (and since).  We're slowly getting better.  Jonathan lucked out since his swim suit has a top.  He got very little on his face.  He's doing the best out of all of us.
