Day 20-- Half Way!

Today we took some cookies we made over to our local volunteer fire department.  They visited the elementary school shortly before the break so the kids were really excited.

The two firefighters that were there were very nice to the kids.  (I think they were a little surprised and caught off guard).  They let the kids look at the five fire trucks they have there, turned the lights on for them, etc.  The kids had fun asking all kinds of questions.

The biggest truck they have was actually the first one on the scene at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.  Who would have thought we would get to see a piece of history at our own fire department?  The firefighters invited us to come back to visit anytime.  :)

We also finally updated our 72 hour kits for each member of our family.  I'm embarrassed to say how out of date they were.  Let's just say we didn't have one for Ethan but we do now.  That's one of the things that has been bugging me for years and now I only need to pick up a few things and they are all complete.  :)
